The daily grind

Sound familiar?

  1. Unlock.
  2. Open the app.
  3. Scroll past 30 accounts.
  4. Type six digits.
  5. Too slow, it’s changed.
  6. Start again.
  • Your phone’s in the other room. Again.

  • Phone on 1%? Left it at home? Now you’re locked out of your own accounts.

  • You’re on your computer all day. So why do your codes live on your phone?

  • New phone? Moving your 2FA is a nightmare.

Twincode puts the code where you’re already looking. One click copies it.

How it works

Move your codes in minutes

Here’s the route from Google Authenticator on an iPhone. Twincode shows you each step on screen, so you never have to remember any of this.

  1. 01

    Add Twincode to Chrome

Pin it to your toolbar so it’s one click away, or press Alt+Shift+2 from any tab.

  2. 02

    Export from Google Authenticator

On your phone, go to Transfer accounts › Export accounts and screenshot each QR code. There’s one for every 10 accounts.

  3. 03

    Send them from your phone

Click Send from phone and scan the code on your computer with your iPhone’s Camera app. Check both screens show the same match code, then pick your screenshots.

  4. 04

    Check and import

Twincode reads the pictures on your computer and lists every account it found. Tap Import. If Google offers to remove the accounts from your phone, tap Keep.

The screenshots are sealed on your phone so only your computer can open them. Our relay can’t read them, and deletes them as soon as they arrive, or after 10 minutes at most. Afterwards, Twincode shows you how to delete the screenshots properly.

Other ways in

  • Webcam

Hold your phone up to your computer’s camera, QR code on screen. The way in for Android.

  • Backup files

Backups from 2FAS, Aegis and Bitwarden come straight in, and so do lists of 2FA links.

  • Microsoft Authenticator or Authy

They don’t let accounts out, so a checklist walks you through re-adding each site.

  • New sites, from now on

The setup QR is already on your screen, so one click grabs it. Then scan the same QR with your phone.

All in Free

Everything you need, nothing in the way

Every one of these is free, with no limit on accounts and no sign-up.

  • Click to copy

Click any code and it’s copied. Twincode can clear the clipboard 30 seconds later.

  • Find it fast

Search as you type, and Enter copies the top match. Favourites sit at the top, and the site you’re on comes first.

  • Grab the QR from the page

Setting up 2FA on a site? One click reads the QR on your screen. Then Twincode reminds you to add it to your phone too.

  • Keyboard first

Alt+Shift+2 opens Twincode from any tab. / to search, arrows to move, Enter to copy.

  • Never race the timer

In a code’s last few seconds, the next one appears beside it.

  • Locked with your password

Your codes are locked on your computer. Twincode locks itself when you step away or lock Windows.

  • Free sync between computers

Through your browser’s own sync, the way it carries bookmarks. Your codes travel locked.

  • Backups you control

Save a locked backup file, export plain links, or show your accounts as QR codes for a new phone.

  • Clock check

If your PC’s clock is out, codes would fail. Twincode spots it, makes codes with the right time, and shows you how to set the clock.

  • Privacy blur

Hide codes until you point at them. Handy when you share your screen.

  • Make it yours

Rename any entry, and add the email, website, notes, a folder and its backup codes. Real logos show for well-known sites.

  • Steam codes too

Steam Guard codes and counter-based codes work as well as the usual six digits.

Why Twincode

Why it’s better

Than your phone

The code is right where you’re typing. One click copies it.

Than other 2FA extensions

You can move everything from any phone, by webcam or by sending screenshots from your iPhone. It never makes you tap your phone for every code. You get real logos, instant search, and a real person keeping it up to date.

Than password managers

You keep your passwords where they are. Twincode is free.

Trust

We never store your codes. Not even locked.

  • Your codes live on your computer, locked with a password only you know.

  • Sync uses your browser’s own sync, and it only ever carries the locked copy.

  • Send from phone passes a sealed box our relay can’t open. It’s deleted as soon as your computer picks it up, or after 10 minutes at most.

  • Twincode can’t see the sites you visit. It only touches a page when you click it.

What we can and can’t see

Our promise

  • Your codes are always yours. Export is free forever, and nothing is locked or deleted if Plus ends.
  • No ads, no tracking, no selling your data. Ever.
  • When Plus arrives, your price never goes up while you stay subscribed. Every plan comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee, and you cancel in a couple of clicks.
  • If Twincode ever closes, a final update unlocks every Plus feature for everyone.
  • Never a weekly plan. In this category, weekly plans are the mark of copycat scams.

How we make money: Plus subscriptions, once Plus arrives. No ads, no data sales, and no account needed for Free.

A note from the founder

“Hi, I’m Ismail. I’m a solo developer, and I built Twincode because I was fed up with exactly this: every login meant hunting for my phone, unlocking it and racing a 30-second timer. I looked for something that put my codes on my PC properly for a long time, and nothing did it the way I wanted, so I made it. It took a lot of time to get right. If you share the frustration, I think you’ll love it.”

FAQ

Questions, answered

Something else on your mind? Visit the help pages or get in touch.

Is it safe?

Your codes are locked on your computer with a password only you know (AES-256 encryption, with the key protected by Argon2id). We never store your codes, not even locked.

Twincode only touches a web page when you click it, press its shortcut or use its right-click menu. Anyone using your computer while Twincode is unlocked could see your codes, just like your unlocked phone, so it locks itself when you step away.

What we can and can’t see

Do I need a webcam?

No. On an iPhone, you send your Google Authenticator screenshots straight from the phone, sealed so only your computer can open them. You can also drop screenshots or backup files into Twincode.

What about Android?

Android doesn’t allow screenshots of Google Authenticator’s export screen. So hold your phone up to your webcam, or photograph each QR code with another phone and drop the photos in. Backups from 2FAS, Aegis and Bitwarden work from any phone.

What about Microsoft Authenticator and Authy?

Neither app lets your accounts out. So Twincode gives you a checklist: open each site’s security settings, scan the new QR code with Twincode and with your phone, and tick the site off. Keep the old app until every site is done.

The re-add checklist, step by step

Does my phone keep working?

Yes. Twincode makes a copy, and your phone carries on as before. If Google Authenticator offers to remove the accounts after you export them, tap Keep.

What happens when I add a new account?

Twincode copies your accounts once. There’s no live link to your phone. New site? Add it on your computer with one click, then scan the same QR code with your phone. Twincode reminds you.

What if I lose my computer?

Your codes on it are locked, so whoever has it needs your password. Your phone still has its codes. On a new computer, bring your codes back with browser sync and your recovery code, or from a backup file.

What if I forget my password?

Use the recovery code you saved when you set Twincode up. Nobody can reset your password for you, including us. That’s what keeps your codes yours.

What if I stop paying?

Free is free, with unlimited accounts, and you never have to pay. Plus isn’t on sale yet. When it is, ending Plus never locks or deletes anything: your codes and your exports stay free.

Your codes, right where you’re typing.
